British singer, songwriter, and fashion designer Louis Tomlinson, 33, best known as a former member of the chart-topping band One Direction, is currently vacationing in Costa Rica.

According to the General Directorate of Migration, Tomlinson arrived in the country on April 29.

Fans have shared photos of the pop star on social media through the “Louis Tomlinson Official Costa Rica Fanclub,” showing him arriving at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Guanacaste and visiting several local bars and restaurants.

This trip marks Tomlinson’s third visit to the Central American country. In May 2024, he performed in front of roughly 15,000 fans at the Viva Park Amphitheater in Alajuela as part of his "Faith in the Future" world tour, named after his most recent album. He also performed at the same venue in June 2022, marking his first concert in Costa Rica.

In 2021, Tomlinson earned a spot in the Guinness World Records for hosting the most live-streamed concert by a solo male artist. The event attracted over 160,000 ticket buyers from over 110 countries and raised funds for various global charities and touring staff impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tomlinson is among several international celebrities choosing Costa Rica as a vacation destination. Last week, Canadian model, actor, and music producer Nick Bateman was spotted enjoying a family getaway in the “Pura Vida” country.

In April, British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, best known for playing Doctor Strange in the Marvel Avengers franchise, was enjoying time in the country with his family.

Recently, American actor Tom Welling, best known for his role as Superman in the television series Smallville, shared numerous photos from his own family getaway in Costa Rica.

Also, Ivanka Trump, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump was spotted with several family members in Guanacaste province.

In February, Michael Jordan the iconic NBA star, returned to Costa Rica for the third time this year to the country.

Tourism is a key sector of Costa Rica's economy. In 2024, the country welcomed over 2.6 million tourists by air, a 7% increase from 2023.

In 2024, Costa Rica achieved $5.4 billion in foreign exchange earnings from the tourism sector, according to data from the Central Bank of Costa Rica.
