The new facility,
known as Ebais, is located in the Jiménez district and is designed
to serve approximately 7,000 people in
the area, including legal foreign
residents who hold a valid DIMEX
identification card, health officials
said.
Health
officials said the Guápiles clinic is
part of a broader national strategy to
strengthen Costa Ricas public health
infrastructure. As part of that
effort, the health authorities
recently opened a new public
clinic in Carrillo canton,
Guanacaste province. The
Social Security Fund, known by its
Spanish acronym CCSS, is the
state-owned institution responsible
for managing the countrys public
health system.
