Morgan Freeman, the iconic American actor and producer, is back in Costa Rica for another vacation.

The 87-year-old Academy Award-winning actor, best known for his role as a former boxer in Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby" (2004), arrived in the country on Saturday, February 15, according to the General Directorate of Migration.

This marks Freeman’s second visit to the "pura vida"  country in two months. He spent about a week in Guanacaste Province in December 2024.

Fans of Freeman shared photos on social media of the actor visiting several tourist spots in Guanacaste, including the popular Coco Loco restaurant in
Flamingo Beach, owned by renowned French chef Jean-Luc Taulere.

Freeman has not revealed any details about the purpose of his second trip to Costa Rica.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeman is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time. Over his five-decade career, he has earned numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Tony Award nomination.

In addition, Freeman has received the Kennedy Center Honor, an AFI Life Achievement Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award.

Freeman is one of many celebrities who have chosen Costa Rica as a vacation destination. In January, NBA legend Michael Jordan visited the country twice within a month to participate in a billfish tournament in Puntarenas Province.

In December 2024, Israeli actress Gal Gadot and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen also visited the country.

Also, Canadian singer Justin Bieber, his wife and model Hailey Bieber, and influencer Kendall Jenner visited the country in December 2024.

Tourism is a key sector of Costa Rica's economy. The country welcomed over 2.6 million tourists by air in 2024, a 7% increase compared to 2023.
