Hugh Jackman, the 57-year-old Australian actor, singer and producer best known worldwide for his role as Logan, also known as Wolverine, in the X-Men film franchise, is vacationing in Costa Rica.



According to Costa Rica’s General Directorate of Migration, Jackman arrived Saturday, Dec. 27, at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Guanacaste Province.



Later that day, he was spotted by a group of fans upon landing at the Cóbano local airport in Puntarenas Province. A photo taken by fans was shared on social media by Spanish-language local outlet Peninsula Informada.



 



This marks Jackman’s second vacation in Costa Rica. In March 2023, he spent a week in Nosara Beach, also in Puntarenas Province. During that trip, Jackman shared several selfies with his 33 million followers, posting a collection of photos highlighting moments from his stay.



“Until next time, Nosara,” he wrote in one post, accompanied by an indie-inspired song.



Jackman has earned numerous accolades over his more than 40-year career, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Grammy Award and two Tony Awards. He has also received nominations for an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award.



With its tropical rainforests, abundant wildlife and scenic coastlines, Costa Rica continues to attract travelers and celebrities alike. Recently, American singer, songwriter and actress Demi Lovato, known for her Disney Channel roles and pop-rock career, vacationed in the country.







In October, British singer, songwriter and fashion designer Louis Tomlinson spent several weeks in Costa Rica, a visit that later inspired his new solo album.



In September, English actor Clive Standen, known for his role as Rollo on the History Channel series Vikings (2013–2018), also vacationed in the country.



Tourism remains one of Costa Rica’s strongest industries. As of September 2025, more than 2.2 million travelers arrived in Costa Rica by air overall.



In 2024, the country welcomed over 2.6 million international air arrivals, a 7% increase from the previous year.



The sector also generated more than $5.4 billion in foreign exchange earnings in 2024.
