By the A.M. Costa Rica staff
Hugh Jackman, the 57-year-old
Australian actor, singer and
producer best known worldwide for
his role as Logan, also known as
Wolverine, in the X-Men film
franchise, is vacationing in Costa
Rica. According to Costa Rica’s General
Directorate of Migration, Jackman
arrived Saturday, Dec. 27, at Daniel Oduber Quirós
International Airport (LIR) in Guanacaste Province. Later that day, he was spotted by
a group of fans upon landing at the Cóbano local airport in Puntarenas Province. A photo
taken by fans was shared on social
media by Spanish-language local
outlet Peninsula Informada.
This
marks Jackman’s second vacation in Costa
Rica. In March 2023, he spent a week in
Nosara Beach, also in Puntarenas Province.
During that trip, Jackman shared several
selfies with his 33 million followers,
posting a collection of photos highlighting
moments from his stay.
“Until
next time, Nosara,” he wrote in one post,
accompanied by an indie-inspired song.
Jackman
has earned numerous accolades over his more
than 40-year career, including a Primetime
Emmy Award, a Grammy Award and two Tony
Awards. He has also received nominations for
an Academy Award and a British Academy Film
Award.
With its tropical rainforests, abundant wildlife and scenic coastlines, Costa Rica continues to attract travelers and celebrities alike. Recently, American singer, songwriter and actress Demi Lovato, known for her Disney Channel roles and pop-rock career, vacationed in the country.
Tourism
remains one of Costa Rica’s strongest
industries. As of September 2025,
more than 2.2 million travelers
arrived in Costa Rica by air overall.
The sector also
generated more than $5.4 billion in
foreign exchange earnings in 2024.
