Kai Trump, the eldest granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, celebrated the end of high school with a trip to Costa Rica before beginning classes this fall at the University of Miami in Florida.

According to Costa Rica's General Directorate of Migration, Trump and a group of friends arrived Saturday, July 11, through Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Guanacaste Province. She departed the country Tuesday, July 14.

The 19-year-old is the eldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Haydon. She gained national attention during the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign after delivering a speech supporting her grandfather's candidacy at the Republican National Convention.

Trump documented her vacation for her 1.5 million social media followers, posting photos and videos from her trip along the country's Pacific Coast in Guanacaste. In a vlog titled "My Senior Trip With My Best Friends," she shared highlights of the group's beach vacation.

"Come along with my best friends and me on our trip to Costa Rica!" she wrote. "I'm so grateful to spend this time together before we all head off to college."

Throughout the trip, Trump shared footage of sunsets on the beach, relaxing by the hotel pool, playing golf and dining with friends. She frequently praised Costa Rica and its "Pura Vida" lifestyle.

"I never wanna leave Costa Rica. I want to move here," she said.

Kai Trump is the second member of President Trump's family reported to have vacationed in Costa Rica in recent years.

In April 2025, Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter, visited Guanacaste for what was her fourth trip to the country since 2022. She also vacationed in Costa Rica in 2023 and made two separate visits in 2022.

Costa Rica continues to attract high-profile visitors from around the world, including celebrities and prominent U.S. political figures.

Earlier this month, Australian actor and producer Chris Hemsworth, best known for portraying Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, vacationed in Costa Rica with his family.

Most recently, U.S. Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia vacationed in Guanacaste.

Earlier in April, billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, visited Cocos Island.

Tourism remains one of Costa Rica's most important economic sectors. More than 1.6 million travelers arrived by air during the first half of 2026, underscoring the industry's continued role as a major contributor to the country's economy.

In 2025, Costa Rica welcomed more than 2.6 million air travelers.

The tourism sector has also reached a significant economic milestone. Costa Rica generated more than $2 billion in tourism revenue during the first quarter of 2026, marking the first time the country has exceeded that benchmark.
