A U.S.-based clinical research company is expanding its presence in Costa Rica and creating new job opportunities as it expands its operations in San José.

Intego Clinical, headquartered in Maitland, Florida, U.S., is the clinical research division of Intego Group. The company announced it is hiring as part of an expansion at the San Pedro Business Center in San José.

“The growing specialization of Costa Rican talent in data analytics and life sciences continues to position the country as a strategic base for advanced clinical research, and that is a key driver of the company’s current and future growth,” said Sergey Glushakov, CEO of Intego Group.

“Our continued investment in Costa Rica reflects a clear operational rationale: strengthening Intego’s footprint across the Americas and enabling full-time zone coverage for our biometrics services,” he added.

The company’s statistical programming services are currently delivered from Costa Rica. It plans to expand its local operations to include additional biometrics service lines, such as data management, biostatistics and data science.

Open positions are aimed at professionals and final-year university students in fields including actuarial sciences, mathematics, statistics, biology and life sciences. Applicants are required to have at least a B2 level of English proficiency.

No prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required. Entry-level hires will participate in a three-month paid training program designed to prepare them for roles as statistical programmers. Interested candidates can apply through the company’s careers website.

The firm established operations in Costa Rica in 2024 and maintains a presence in the United States, Poland, Ukraine, Armenia and Romania.

Costa Rica has attracted steady foreign investment in recent years, though employment challenges persist. According to the National Employment Survey (INEC), the unemployment rate stood at 6.7% between December 2025 and February 2026, leaving more than 154,000 people without work. Men accounted for about 56% of that total, or roughly 87,000 individuals.

Intego Clinical is among several U.S. companies expanding in Costa Rica. Recently, Switchback Medical, a medical device contract development and manufacturing organization based in Minnesota, announced plans to build new facilities in Alajuela province.

In related developments, Costa Rica’s exports reached a new record of more than $22.8 billion in 2025, marking a 14% increase compared with 2024.
