U.S.-based
medical technology manufacturer Solesis has
announced the opening of a new manufacturing
facility in Costa Rica, expanding the
company’s global production capacity.
The new facility
is located in the Greenpark Free
Trade Zone, the first
industrial park and free trade zone in
Alajuela province. The site includes
cleanroom environments designed for the
production of healthcare devices. “This expansion is
a significant milestone for Solesis and we are looking
forward to being part of the San José
community,” said Lindsay Walker, the
company’s vice president of human
resources.
Solesis
is among several U.S. companies expanding
their presence in Costa Rica. Recently,
Duracell Inc., a Chicago-based
manufacturer of alkaline batteries,
specialty cells and
rechargeable products, also announced
the launch of operations in San José.
