TV series Vikings actress visits to Costa Rica

Katheryn Winnick, a social media celebrity and Canadian actress best known for her prominent parts in the television series Vikings, visited Costa Rica.


The television star's wanderlust and love for travel is well-known among her fans. Recently, with the caption "Happiness in Costa Rica" she delighted her followers by sharing a collection of stunning pictures from her adventures in the "pura vida" country on her social media accounts, such as Instagram or Facebook.


The Ontario-born and Ukrainian descent actress stayed in Costa Rica for a week, according to the General Directorate of Immigration's tourist registration department.


Other renowned series in which Winnick was part of the star cast were Wu Assassins (2019), Big Sky (2023), and Bones (2010). She also starred in films such as Amusement (2008), Choose (2010), A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III (2012), The Art of the Steal (2013), Polar (2019), and The Marksman (2021) ).


In March 2022, Winnick, together with her mother, created the charity "The Winnick Foundation" to raise funds for the needs of Ukraine. That year, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs banned Winnick from entering Russia, as well as 99 other Canadians, in response to their actions against the current Russia's invasion of Ukraine.





Winnick is one of the many celebrities who have stayed in Costa Rica recently. Taylor Hill (27) the former top model of Victoria's Secret Angel U.S. lingerie brand, visited the country.


Recently, the Journal de Montreal, a daily newspaper based in Quebec, Canada, recommended the Costa Rican Caribbean Coast as a vacation destination.


Tourism is one of the most important economic sectors in Costa Rica. As of January, more than 270,000 tourists were visiting the country by air.


In 2023, the country reached a new tourism record with more than 2,4 million travelers visiting the country by air.

 

In 2022, about 2.3 million tourists visited Costa Rica, which represents one million more visitors than in 2021.
