A.M. Costa Rica staff United Airlines,
one of the major airlines in the United
States headquartered in Chicago,
Illinois, has announced new nonstop
routes between the U.S. and Costa Rica,
announced the Tourism Institute. The new route will
be available in May 2025, between the
Juan Santamarķa International Airport
(SJO) located in Alajuela
Province and the San Francisco
International Airport (SFO), in the State of California. The new daily
flight on a B737 Max8 will depart from
SFO at 12:45 a.m. PT and arrive at SJO
at 7:15 a.m. CR time. Then, from SJO to SFO
departs at 8:45 a.m. CR's time to arrive at
SFO at 1:35 p.m. PT. Additional
information about the new flight
schedules will be released on the airline's website.
"The
increase in frequencies and
destinations in the United States
allows us to provide our customers
with
a diverse
network
of
travel options,"
said
Frederick Thome, United Airlines LA
Sales Manager. The
United States remains the most popular
nationality visiting Costa Rica.
Authorities recently reported
over 1 million tourists from the
U.S. accounting for 62% of the
total visitors.
The country
reported a new tourism record
reached in 2023, with more than 2,4
million travelers. The
Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT),
or Tourism Institute, is the
government agency responsible for
promoting tourism in Costa Rica.
