Sherman
Güity-Güity, a Tico athlete who won two gold
medals, will be welcomed home on Monday,
Sept. 9, with a parade.
Early
last week, he won his first gold medal in
the world games.
Güity
participated in the T64 category, which
includes athletes who compete in speed and
have had a leg amputated.
In 2021, Sherman won a gold medal in the Tokyo Paralympic World Games.
Traffic
officers will patrol parade routes,
although authorities advise vehicle
drivers and motorcycle riders to avoid
crossing them wherever possible.
Costa
Rica's Paralympic Team of eight competed
in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Güity was the only athlete who won a
medal; the rest were eliminated from their
competitions.
Paris 2024 is the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, an international multi-sport para-sports event governed by the International Paralympic Committee, which was held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September 2024.
