The Costa Rica Men’s National Team is set to face the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) in the quarterfinal soccer game of the 2025 Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) Gold Cup.

The knockout-round match is scheduled for Sunday, June 29, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, U.S. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. local time in
Costa Rica (7 p.m. ET).

According to the U.S. Soccer Federation, USMNT
enters the quarterfinals after a dominant performance in Group D, where it finished first with three straight wins over Trinidad and Tobago, Saudi Arabia, and Haiti. The Americans scored eight goals and conceded only one, including a five-goal outburst in their opening match.

Costa Rica secured second place in Group A, finishing level on points with Mexico at seven apiece. Their head-to-head match ended in a draw, but Mexico advanced as the group winner based on goal differential, having scored one more goal than Costa Rica during the group stage.

Discipline may prove costly for the Ticos. Five Costa Rican players received yellow cards in their final group match, and both defender Joseph Mora and forward Manfred Ugalde will be unavailable against the U.S. after picking up their second bookings. The two combined for four of Costa Rica’s six goals in the group stage.

Sunday's quarterfinal will mark the 43rd meeting between Costa Rica and the United States. The U.S. holds a narrow edge in the all-time series with a 19-17-6 record.

The winner of Sunday’s match will advance to the semifinals on July 2. The tournament champion will be crowned on July 6.

In the U.S., the TV broadcast will be available on FOX. The Spanish-language television broadcast will be available on Univision and TUDN. The match will stream on FOX Sports Live and Fubo.

In Costa Rica, the game will be broadcast on channels ESPN and Disney+.

The U.S. most recently defeated Costa Rica 3-0 in a friendly played earlier this year at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Costa Rica was eliminated from the 2024 Copa América despite a 2-1 win over Paraguay in the group stage. The result was not enough to secure advancement to the next round.
