IKEA
announced Tuesday that it has launched a
hiring process as part of its plans to
open stores in Costa Rica.
The
company is seeking candidates for
positions in logistics, human
resources, operations, security and
protection, marketing, information
technology and cybersecurity, among
other departments. Interested
applicants can apply through the company’s
careers website. In
the United States, IKEA operates 52
stores. Globally, the company serves
customers through more than 480
stores, e-commerce platforms and order
pickup points across 63 markets. IKEA
reports approximately 899 million annual
store
visits and 4.6 billion online visits
worldwide.
According
to the company, IKEA offers
approximately 12,000 products. During
fiscal year 2024, more
than $52 billion worth of IKEA
products were sold
worldwide. In August 2025, IKEA
announced plans to enter the Costa
Rican market.
Additional details regarding store
locations and opening dates will be
announced
at a later time, according to the
company.
IKEA
joins a growing list of international
companies investing in Costa Rica. Recently, Switchback
Medical, a Minnesota-based medical
device manufacturing company,
announced plans to establish
operations in the country.
