According to the Episcopal Conference, the country’s leading Catholic authority, some people often confuse the observance with the more colorful celebrations held in Mexico. "All Saints’ Day" is observed on Nov. 1, followed by "Day of the Dead" on Nov. 2. “The Church remembers those who have died on both days, but with a different focus and a one-day interval between the two rites,” church officials said.
