Regionally, the northern zone of Alajuela Province recorded the highest occupancy rate at 92%, followed by Guanacaste at 88%. Hotels along the Central Pacific Coast reported 73% occupancy. Other regions are also seeing solid performance. The Caribbean Coast reported a 71% occupancy rate, followed by the southern Pacific Coast at 70% and the Central Valley at 68%. By hotel category, mountain hotels posted the highest occupancy at 82%, followed by beach hotels at 80% and city hotels at 65%. All-inclusive properties led all segments, reaching an occupancy rate of 94%, the chamber said. The survey found that 51% of hotels expect occupancy levels similar to those recorded in the same period of the 2024–2025 season.
As of September 2025,
more than 2.2 million travelers
arrived in Costa Rica by air overall.
The sector also generated more than $5.4 billion in foreign exchange earnings in 2024.
