Costa Rica has again become a destination for celebrities from the world of TV, cinema, music and sports. One among them is Victor Wembanyama, nicknamed "Wemby," a French professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and also a member of the French national team, with whom he won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 20-year-old player came to the country on Thursday, August 14, according to public information from the General Directorate of Migration. Fans of the 7'4 ft athlete have uploaded photos on social media during his vacation to Costa Rica's famed Manuel Antonio Beach in Puntarenas Province.
Wembanyama is one
of many celebrities who have vacationed
in Costa Rica. Kevin Hart, a
comedian from the United States,
recently spent his holiday in the
"pura vida" country.
Tourism is one of
the most important economic sectors in
Costa Rica. Approximately 1.5
million tourists arrived in the
country via air as of June,
representing a 14% rise over the same
period in 2023.
The country reported a new tourism record reached in 2023, with more than 2,4 million travelers.
