against the government

Some members of the National Association of Public Employees Union, known as ANEP, marched on Monday protesting against the measures taken by the government to contain the increase of the covid-19.

The action took place in the form of a car caravan beginning in La Sabana Park, moving along Second Avenue, until it ended at the entrance to the Social Security building in San José downtown.

Traffic Police officers did not report conflicts or affect the traffic of vehicles during the protest.

According to the union, the manifestation is against the fiscal crisis, the pandemic measures ordered by the government, and its economic-social repercussions.

The protest is an expression of discontent from the people who are unemployed as a result of the pandemic, of those who were already suffering the scourge of informality and of those who were already without work, ANEP said in its statement.

It is expected the government responds to ANEP’s protests today.

Should the government accept ANEP’s proposals and ease measures taken to contain the pandemic?
