The
California-headquartered firm, Cohesity,
an artificial intelligence-powered data
security and management, announced the
opening of its operations in the WeWork
building located
in Cariari Canton in Heredia Province. With an
investment of $8 million in Costa Rica,
specifically for headcount expansion and
office space, the company will provide a
workspace to foster collaboration,
creativity, and employee well-being. Cohesity
helps organizations defend against
cybersecurity threats with comprehensive
data security and management capabilities,
including immutable backup snapshots,
AI-based threat detection, monitoring for
malicious behavior, and rapid recovery at
scale. “Costa Rica
reflects the values we cherish at
Cohesity: integrity, respect, innovation,
and a customer-centric culture. With its
local talent, highly skilled workforce,
thriving economy, and growing
technological ecosystem, it is the ideal
place for Cohesity's success, " said Pablo
Arce, Cohesity's Costa Rican Director. "
From here, we can not only offer our
technology to local organizations but also
contribute to bringing our solutions to
clients worldwide.” The firm
plans to enhance its Costa Rican team
further, to increase its employee
headcount by 20% by 2024.
Currently, the company has 25 open positions, targeting bilingual professionals with intermediate or advanced English proficiency. These job opportunities span various areas, from software architecture, customer service, and finance to sales representatives, marketing directors, and graphic designers. Those interested should visit the firm jobs website.
It has additional offices in the United States, India and Ireland.
Cohesity is one of many U.S. firms hiring in Costa Rica. Last week, the Sunnyvale, CA. USA-based, industrial supply company R.S. Hughes opened its operations in Alajuela Province.
However, Costa Rica's unemployment remains at 7.3%, according to the National Employment Survey. Data recorded from Oct. to Dec. 2023 shows more than 164,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 95,000 are men, making up 58% of the unemployed people in the country.
