The California, United States-headquartered digital technology firm, Movate, announced the expansion of its operations in Costa Rica.

According to the company, its plan includes a third Costa Rica-based global delivery center. The center will further strengthen the company’s regional presence to deliver technical support and digital services to its global clientele.

The new facility, located in Ultra-LAG Industrial Zone, in Lagunilla Canton, Heredia Province, has over 600 seats spread across 43,100 square feet. With office floors, recreational areas, conference rooms, and training labs, this workspace is designed to foster an environment of creativity and innovation.

Like Movate's two established centers in the Greater Metropolitan Area, the new facility, will capitalize on employees, robust infrastructure, and a favorable time zone for global operations.

“We're happy to announce a significant milestone in our journey to leverage top global talent for delivering best-in-class services. This expansion to a new state-of-the-art facility in Heredia reiterates Movate’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clients while contributing to the flourishing job market in Costa Rica," said Sunil Mittal, CEO, of Movate. " We have witnessed a fivefold workforce growth in recent years and have strategically outlined comprehensive expansion plans for this region, capitalizing on Costa Rica's youthful and skilled workforce."

Additionally, the new facility will provide a gateway for Movate's worldwide clients to leverage the operational and technical expertise offered in the region, with support available in languages such as English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.

Movate Costa Rica started its operations over a decade ago, and today it boasts a team of 1,400 employees. It is positioned to grow to 2,000 employees, with plans in place to hire an additional 200 professionals for the new facility.  Those interested in an open job vacancy should visit the company careers website.

The digital technology and customer experience services company has over 12,000 full-time employees across 20 global locations and a gig network of thousands of technology experts across 60 countries, speaking over 100 languages.

This is one of many international firms hiring in Costa Rica.  Last week, with an investment of over $20 million, the Swedish firm Trelleborg Healthcare & Medical announced the facility in Alajuela Province.

Costa Rica's unemployment remains at 7.3%, according to the National Employment Survey. Data recorded from Oct. to Dec. 2023 shows more than 164,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 95,000 are men, making up 58% of the unemployed people in the country.
