According to the Surf Federation, Hennessy took the top position in the first round of competition on Tuesday with 12.50 points. She beat out two U.S. rivals, Sawyer Lindblad (12.10) and Caitlin Simmers (9.57). She won the first hit in Australia, barely four days after being discharged from the hospital after an unintentional eardrum perforation (rupture), added the Federation.
Hennessy,
from Matapalo Cape, Osa Peninsula,
Puntarenas Province, has qualified for
the quarterfinals, that will take place
this week. The Rip
Curl Pro is a World Surf League (WSL)
surfing tournament hosted in Australia
and sponsored by the surf business Rip
Curl. The competition is conducted
yearly around Easter. This year, it is
taking place from March 26 to April 5,
2024. Recently
Hennessy finished third in the World
Surf League competition held in
Hawaii, USA.
