The Social Security (CCSS) has launched a healthcare campaign this week in Upala Canton, located in Alajuela Province. The initiative aims to provide essential medical services to the local population.

Healthcare services will be available at two key locations: the National Learning Institute (INA) facilities and the local branch of the Regional Directorate Ministry of Public Education. Medical professionals will be on hand to assist residents from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to noon on Friday.

The campaign offers a wide range of medical services, including eye tests, laboratory exams, dental care, vaccinations, electrocardiograms, cholecystectomies, orthopedics, general medical care, and pap smears. In addition, patients will receive their prescribed medications on the same day.

The medical staff aims to serve at least 6,000 individuals from the province during the campaign. To facilitate this, patients will be contacted based on the information they provided during registration to schedule medical consultations.

Residents, including foreign nationals with DIMEX cards, can learn more about the campaign by visiting the front desk of their local public clinic in Upala or any of the designated healthcare facilities.

This campaign is part of a broader effort to provide widespread medical services in the country. Recently, the CCSS, in partnership with the U.S. Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B), organized a similar healthcare exercise in Cartago Province.

The Social Security (CCSS) is the state-run organization responsible for the country’s public healthcare system.
