The
Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ)
is actively searching for a missing U.S.
citizen, identified as 71-year-old Vatani
Eshraghollah.
Authorities
reported that Eshraghollah was last seen
on Monday, May 19, in a public
area near Río Segundo, a
canton in Alajuela province. However, he
was officially reported missing on
Tuesday, May 27.
The case was made public on Wednesday, May 28, after initial investigative efforts failed to yield significant leads. According to investigators, such delays in public announcements are not unusual, as authorities often attempt to gather early evidence before requesting assistance from the public.
The OIJ is
urging anyone with information regarding
Eshraghollah’s whereabouts to come forward.
Tips can be submitted confidentially via the
agency’s 10-digit hotline at 800-8000-645 or
through WhatsApp at 8800-0645.
A.M.
Costa Rica encourages readers to share
