While
a harsh winter is forecast in North America
and Europe, Costa Rica's summer season,
often known as the peak tourist season, will
begin in less than a month.
According
to the Weather Institute, the final rainy
days of the current green season will be
gradually replaced by sunny days across the
country.
Weather
experts anticipate that the sunny season
will begin on the southern Pacific Coast
between November 17 and 20.
Sunny days will begin a few days later in the Central Valley, which includes the provinces of Cartago, Alajuela, Heredia, and San José, from November 20 to 23.
Hot days are likely to begin on the Pacific Coast's central and northern zones between November 22 and 24. Summer will begin in the last week of November, between 22 and 25 on the Caribbean Coast, Limón Province. Experts warn that even as the dry season is about to begin, additional rainy days are expected throughout the remainder of October and the first three weeks of November. Costa Rica's dry season lasts about six months, from December to May. Because of the large drop in rainfall, the dry season is often referred to as summer. Between May and July, there is a transition period before the rainy season, which runs from August to November. The National Institute of Meteorology, or Weather Institute, is the state-owned agency that is tasked with providing weather forecasts, warnings of hazardous weather, and other weather-related products to organizations and the public for protection, safety, and general information.
