The Tourism Institute is promoting Costa Rica as a reliable destination at the World Travel Market (WTM) tourist fair which is held this week in London, England.

The country offers a wide variety of options to explore nature with the partnership of 38 Costa Rican companies that participated in the fair.

Representatives of these companies are holding round tables of negotiations with British and European travel agents and tour operators.

Participation in tourism fairs is important for the positioning of Costa Rica as a tourist destination, authorities said. Recently, the institute participated in the IMEX America Convention Tourism Fair that took place in Las Vegas, U.S.A.

As of Sept., Costa Rica has reached over 1.8 million tourists. Of these, over 49,000 British tourists have visited Costa Rica. The statistics show that each British tourist had an average expense of $133 per day with a stay of close to 15 nights.

Last year, about 2.3 million tourists visited the country. That is one million more visitors than in 2021.
