Costa Rica’s men’s national soccer team will face England in an international friendly Wednesday at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, U.S., as the UK squad completes its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the Costa Rica Soccer Federation, the team led by Argentine head coach Fernando Batista, is already in Orlando for the match, which is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. Costa Rica time (noon EDT).

Costa Rica will not participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup after being eliminated in November 2025 following a qualifying loss to Honduras.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel has selected a 26-player squad for the match, led by captain Harry Kane. The friendly serves as part of England’s final preparations before the World Cup begins.

England has been drawn into Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama. Following the match, the English team will travel to Kansas, U.S., where it will establish its World Cup training camp.

The match will be broadcast on FOX Sports, ESPN and Disney+.

The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup, the international men’s soccer championship held every four years and contested by national teams affiliated with FIFA, will take place from June 11 through July 19, 2026.

The tournament will be hosted jointly by 16 cities across North America, including 11 in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada. It will mark the first FIFA World Cup hosted by three countries and the first to feature 48 teams, expanding from the previous 32-team format.
