A section of Route 32, the roadway that connects the provinces of San José and Limón, would be temporarily closed for the rest of this month, the Ministry of Public Transports has warned.

According to the authorities, the closure road segment is 20 miles, from the toll booth near the entrance to the Braulio Carrillo National Park to the crossing over the Frío River bridge.

The closures in the area are due to works such as asphalt renovations, the application of fresh paint and traffic signs.

Vehicles will be restricted from entering the area every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. which may result in a vehicular bottleneck in the area.

Authorities are urging drivers to avoid crossing through the zone.

Instead, Route 5 may be used to get from Limón to Heredia and then San José. Drivers who travel on the opposite way, from San José to the Caribbean Coast should take the same alternative route.

For drivers who travel through the construction zone, there will be traffic officers regulating the route of vehicles.

Recently, the same route was restricted for one week, while workers cleaned the drainage system, pipes, and asphalt.
