citizen dies in a traffic accident
By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Agents of the Judicial Investigation Organization, OIJ, reported on Monday the death of a U.S. Citizen surnamed Durham, 85, who died in a traffic accident in Limón Province. The accident happened around 7 a.m., near the community of Punta Uva Beach, in Puerto Viejo District, agents reported. According to OIJ, the accident occurred when Durham was driving a quad that was modified to carry something similar to a cart that he used as a container to transport trash. According to the brief information provided by the authorities, "the victim was driving the vehicle that had a cart attached, in which apparently he carried garbage. And he tried to make a turn but the vehicle overturned, suffering from injuries that caused his death at the scene." Durham had been a resident for many years and living in the area of Puerto Viejo, officers said in its report. According to the police, the forensics lifted the body on Monday morning to be taken to the Judicial Morgue located in the San Joaquín de Flores district in Heredia Province.
