Celebrate the male soccer
league final at home

Due to the increase in cases of covid-19, authorities call on soccer fans to celebrate the male major league final game at home. No parties. Avoid crowds. Respect social bubbles. No congregating on the streets.

"It is the responsibility of each person to face the pandemic, that is why we call on the fans of the teams to see and enjoy the game with them social bubbles and from their homes," said Hernán Solano-Venegas, Minister of Sport.

The big game will take place tonight at 8:30 p.m. at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium in the Tibas District, in San José Province. The final tonight between the first division teams of Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and Club Deportivo Saprissa is known as the classic game of the championship.

The game will be live streamed at Saprissa team Facebook page or Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Facebook page.

According to the ministry, the teams, players, and staff of the major league soccer teams have followed the sanitary guideline for prevention measures issued by the Ministry of Health.

Fans are urged to also maintain those precautionary measures in their own homes.


Regarding the women's soccer league, which kicked-off on Saturday at the Municipal Stadium in Perez Zeledon, the inaugural match was between the Sporting FC teams against Suva Sports.

Sporting FC won by a score of 8 to 1 goals.

The second game of the tournament was held on Sunday between the teams Dimas Escazú and Herediano, with the result of a 1 to 1 goal draw.

Tomorrow’s game between the teams of Saprissa and Coronado will take place at 6 p. m. at the Saprissa team stadium in the Tibas District. The game can be reached at Saprissa women's team Facebook page.
