Officials of the Air Surveillance Service arrested a man of Hungarian nationality surnamed Kantra on suspicion of wearing original police uniform garments. According to the police report, this case began when the officers were carrying out a routine patrol of road control in Limón city in Limón Province. When a car was stopped by the officers, one of the passengers was wearing a cap that is allegedly an official garment of the Municipality of Escazu police uniform. Also, the man was wearing a face mask that is allegedly an official garment of the Municipality of San José police uniform, police said.  In Costa Rica, the police force uniforms are for the exclusive use of the officers. The uniform garments were seized as part of the evidence in the case. In addition, the suspect was arrested and taken to the cells of the Limón Prosecutor's Office where he was interrogated by the judicial agents and now must wait until a judge considers the pre-trial measures against the man accused of illegal use of Costa Rican police uniforms. Detaining foreigners as suspects of committing crimes in Costa Rica is an active part of the police work.  This week, a Dutch citizen man was detained as a suspect of forging false documents and having a warrant alert from Interpol.  Also, officers of the Juan Santamaría International Airport, arrested a Ukrainian man, surnamed Vasly, 44, as a cocaine trafficking suspect.  In April, Migration extradited to the United States two men, Jamaican Citizens, who are the subjects of an open investigation for fraud.  In February, Interpol arrested a Croatian citizen who has an arrest warrant in his country for being linked to drug trafficking.
