The Chicago, Illinois, U.S.- headquartered firm, Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL), a real estate investment management service, expanded its operations in Costa Rica.

According to the company, the new facilities located in La Ribera de Belén Canton in Heredia Province, have consolidated their shared services center for the Americas.

JLL is a global leader in commercial real estate investment management with offices in more than 80 countries and a global workforce of more than 103,000 employees.

The company is actively opening more than 150 jobs to reach 400 employees in this country by the end of the year.

Since the opening of operations in Costa Rica, 20 years ago, the firm now manages corporate centers delivering finance, project management, marketing, and customer services for the United States and Canada.

The new facilities in Heredia consist of 2,300 m2 with the potential to expand to an additional 1,200 m2. JLL’s new offices, designed with accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability in mind, have a hybrid work model and 200 workstations and incorporate high-tech conveniences, modern collaborative workspaces, and networking in a smart building.

JLL is currently looking for bilingual professionals with an intermediate or advanced level of English to join its team. Among the benefits offered to its employees is a modern hybrid work model that provides flexible work hours. Employees also receive an annual bonus, access to a company doctor at the workplace, private insurance, a learning center for their professional development, and the support of the solidarity association for fostering their well-being.

Those interested in applying for available jobs should visit the firm careers website.

JLL is one of many international firms investing in Costa Rica. Recently, Establishment Labs Holdings, a global medical technology company specializing in breast implants, expanded its operations in Alajuela Province.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs, unemployment remains at 9.6%, according to the National Employment Survey. Data recorded from May to June 2023 shows more than 225,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 116,000 are men, making up 51% of the unemployed people in the country.
