BBQ Chicken, a U.S. Korean-style menu, opened its first restaurant in Costa Rica.
BBQ Chicken is a Korean original restaurant based in Seoul that 2017 established its international franchising when the main company moved to New Jersey, U.S.A. allowing it to expand its operation with 3,500 restaurants located in 57 countries around the world.
“We are thrilled to open our very first location in Costa Rica. We believe food is the gateway to culture, and we’re confident that the Costa Rican community will love our crispy fried chicken and unique flavor offerings,” said Joseph Kim, CEO of BBQ Chicken USA. “With more Costa Rica openings coming this year and next, we hope to continue our growth further into Latin America as we expand from our successful growth in the United States.”
According to the firm, the opening in Costa Rica is part of its plans to extend its Latin American presence, following its recent opening in Panama.
The brand aims to meet the growing demand for Korean fried chicken in Costa Rica with the new restaurant in Multiplaza Escazu Mall in San José.
The store features the BBQ Chicken Village, a high-end concept targeting the international market, providing full-dining services in a 3,800 square feet space with ample seating.
The concept allows consumers to participate in the full Korean fried chicken experience and beer at the same time, commonly known as Chimaek in Korean culture.
The restaurant also plans to open five additional restaurants in Costa Rica this year.
BBQ Chicken is one of many U.S. brand restaurants opening in Costa Rica. Recently, the pastry shop, Krispy Kreme opened its first shop in San José. ---------------
