As of October, there were 415 deaths in traffic accidents, Traffic Police reported.
Of the total deaths, 207 were motorcyclists (which is equivalent to 50% of fatalities), 148 were car drivers, 30 were cyclists and the rest were passengers and pedestrians.
Among the main causes of these road accidents were speeding and careless drivers.
Police registered 180 for speeding, 93 for disrespecting the yellow line and invading the oncoming lane, 50 for making an unlawful U-turn, 45 for drunk driving, 30 were caused by pedestrians and the rest were caused by reckless driving.
Last year closed with more than 480 deaths in traffic accidents.
Police call on drivers to respect the law and take preventive measures to avoid accidents. People can report any case of reckless driving to the 911 emergency line.
