It is Halloween weekend!

Our ghostly party menu couldn't be complete without this sweet tasty recipe for kids. These not-so-scary ghost milkshakes look so cute as to be scary! I got this recipe from Jeannie’s Tried and True Recipes blog, which I highly recommended.

So, let's go to the kitchen!

Remember that you can fix the quantities of the ingredients depending on the number of people at your party. This recipe makes about 5 milkshakes, just enough for 5 people. The number of servings depends on the size of the glasses being used.

The ingredients, easy to find at any supermarket in Costa Rica, are:

· 5 small glass bottles or jars.

· 3 cups vanilla ice cream.

· 1 3/4 cups milk.

· 1/4 cup chocolate chips.

· Whipped cream.

First, let's make the glasses ghost faces. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe dish. Heat on high for 30 seconds and stir. If needed, heat for an additional 15 seconds until the chocolate is creamy.

Stir in 15-second increments until the chocolate is smooth.

Using the end of the handle on a spoon, decorate the face. Dip into the melted chocolate and just add a small amount to the glass for each part of the face. Use just a small amount of melted chocolate when making the eyes, nose and mouth. Let it sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Now the milkshake. Place ice cream into the blender. Add milk and blend until the ingredients are mixed together.

Pour the milkshake into the decorated glasses, leaving about one inch to the top for the whipped cream. Add the whipped cream on top of the milkshake.

If you want the milkshake thinner, add more milk, adding a little milk at a time. If you prefer it thicker, add more ice cream until you have the desired consistency.

Enjoy right away.

Have a Pura Vida Halloween!
