The New York, U.S.A.-headquartered firm, G.W. Lisk Company, announced the expansion of its operations in Latin America with the acquisition of Preinsa, a Costa Rican manufacturing firm located in Cartago Province.

G.W. Lisk is an engineered solution for aerospace, on-highway equipment, oil & gas and mobile industrial hydraulics.

The acquisition comes shortly after the addition of another Costa Rican company, Tico Electronics, a manufacturer specializing in complex assemblies.

With these two additions, G.W. Lisk is creating a strong manufacturing presence in Costa Rica, they said.

"Preinsa’s capability of machining precision components for high-tech manufacturing industries will support Lisk’s overall growth strategy, opening new markets and helping to meet the needs of customers across a variety of industries," said G.W. Lisk Company President and CEO, Ed Maier. "The addition of Preinsa’s machining capabilities and employee talent will enhance our opportunities to serve our global customers.”

Preinsa will continue to operate independently as a division of G.W. Lisk Company. Members of Preinsa’s executive team will work alongside their Lisk teammates to realize the benefits of this business combination.

The company is actively hiring highly motivated and qualified candidates with job categories that include assembly, machining, engineering, quality and sales. People interested in applying for a job vacancy should visit the firm careers website.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs, unemployment remains at 9.6%, according to the National Employment Survey.

Data recorded from May to June 2023 shows more than 225,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 116,000 are men, making up 51% of the unemployed people in the country.

G.W. Lisk is one of many U.S. firms investing in Costa Rica. Last week, the Boston, Massachusetts- headquartered tech company, OnProcess, announced their company’s expansion with the opening of a new office at Ultrapark Industrial Free Zone located in Heredia Province.

According to a recent report by the U.S. Department of State, Costa Rica is considered to be an excellent choice for foreign investors.
