If you’ve never had maracuya (aka passion fruit), you’re about to be seriously blessed. This mousse is creamy, tangy, sweet, and so ridiculously easy to make that you’ll wonder why you haven’t been whipping it up every weekend.

My first time trying it was in Guanacaste. Picture this: stepping off the plane, greeted with folk dancers, live music, and a little welcome bag stuffed with local treats. Inside? The silkiest, fluffiest maracuya mousse. Instant love. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to recreate that flavor at home.

This recipe only needs three ingredients. Yup, three. Toss them in a blender, let it chill, and boom, you’ve got a tropical dessert that looks fancy but takes basically no effort.

So, let’s get cookin’!

Here’s what you need, and yes, you can grab all of this at any Costa Rican supermarket:

  • Maracuya pulp, grab a 14-oz pack (Goya’s got you covered if you’re in Costa Rica).

  • 1 can table cream (14 oz), or "media crema" in Spanish, think fresh cream but with more richness.

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz).

  • Optional: Save some maracuya pulp with seeds for garnish. They look gorgeous and add a little crunch.

First, toss the pulp, table cream, and condensed milk into your blender. Blend for 6–8 minutes. Yes, set a timer; those air bubbles are what make it mousse-y and dreamy.

Pour into cute little mugs, cups, or one big dish, depending on how you want to serve.

Pop it in the fridge overnight. The hardest part: waiting.

Before serving, spoon a little fresh maracuya pulp with seeds on top. It looks stunning and gives that authentic Costa Rican touch.

It’s light
but rich, sweet with a tangy punch, and honestly looks like something from a fancy restaurant even though it’s just three ingredients and a blender. No baking. No drama. Just tropical magic in a spoonful.

Trust me, make this once, and you’ll be hooked.

Have a "pura vida" weekend!
