By the A.M. Costa Rica staff More than 39,000 people from Parismina Beach in Limón Province are getting stronger broadband Internet access with speeds greater than 100 megabytes.
According to the Public Electricity Institute (ICE), the technological advancement was carried out as part of the National Telecommunications Fund, which has the goal of reducing the digital divide in public schools and colleges in the country.
The
State-owned company Kolbi was in charge of
the installation of the internet network
and antennas.
The country continues to make progress in improving access to new technologies. This week, the institute announced the new infrastructure internet project valued at more than $72 million aims to improve internet access in the country. This is the third stage of the New Generation Access Network (RANGE) Project, which deploys fiber optic networks in 98 cantons over the country.
