The Palmares Canton Festival, hosted in Alajuela Province, will include cultural events, sports, live music, rodeos, carnivals, and horse parades, among other activities, from January 18 to 29.

According to the Palmares Civic Association, which is in charge of coordinating the festival, this year's activities begin on Thursday at noon with a horse parade and will go through the canton's main streets before concluding at the local fairground. The day will conclude with a fireworks display in the evening, after Latin music concerts.

Visitors to the fairground, known as Cuidad Magica (the magical city in English), will discover bar and food court zones. Every night, live music concerts will be performed by local bands.

The fair also has leisure activities such as a canopy, children's games, dancing, and bullfight shows.

Visitors can also participate in sports activities such as mountain biking, gymnastics, CrossFit, and martial arts competitions.

All activities are free to attend. The bar and restaurant zone admittance tickets, on the other hand, cost around $20 and are available at the venue box office.
