The goal is
to improve the flow of vehicles to the
capital for those returning from the
provinces of Guanacaste and Puntarenas
after a brief vacation break over the
holidays. All
available lanes between the Pozon
Canton toll in
Alajuela Province and the
Ciudad Colón toll in
San José Province will go towards San
José, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Closures
will start one hour before the effective
time and will end one hour later, from 1
p.m. to 7 p.m. The maximum speed allowed
will be 37 mph.
Drivers who travel on the opposite way, from San José to the Pacific Coast during the route reverse schedule, must do so by one of the three optional routes:
Authorities warn drivers to consider this schedule when planning their trip in one direction or another.
