Halloween might not be the biggest thing in Costa Rica, but this weekend? The country’s bringing the chills, thrills, and plenty of parties to prove otherwise. From haunted hotel bashes to beachside costume contests, it’s all about good vibes, good music, and unforgettable scares.







On Friday




Craic Irish Pub, Downtown San José. Kick things off with a Haunted Party starting at 6 p.m. Expect live music, creepy cocktails, food specials, and a costume contest that could win you some bragging rights. 18+ only. Free entry.



La Fira Club, Santa Ana, San José. The Halloween Friday Fest goes down at 7 p.m. with live bands, a special spooky menu, and a costume contest. Tickets at the door.



Hacienda Salitrillos Restaurant, Aserrí, San José. Go full Día de los Muertos at the Catrina Costume Contest. Live music, Mexican food, and a lot of color. Tickets at the box office.



Radisson Hotel, San José. Dress to impress for the Tropical Halloween Party. Dinner, prizes, and a big Latin music finale. Tickets at the venue.



Jazz Café Pub, Escazú, San José. Time-travel to the 70s, 80s, and 90s at the Retro Halloween Party. Nostalgia, rhythm, and throwback costumes hit the floor at 8 p.m.







Hilton Hotel, Sabana, San José. Head up to the 18th floor at Cloud Bar Halloween for skyline views, live music, and prizes for the top three costumes. The party starts at 8 p.m.



Valle del Oro Restaurant, Cartago.  Halloween Tour with monsters, cocktails, live tunes, and a horror-inspired menu makes this one worth the trip. Starts at 7 p.m.



City Mall, Alajuela. A Monster Hunt and candy giveaway for the little ones. Starts at 4 p.m. and it’s free for all.



Oxígeno Mall, Heredia. Think you’re brave? Try the Alley of Terror. Chilling effects, scary surprises, and a walk that’ll test your nerves. Opens at 4 p.m.



Convention Center, Heredia. Electric Animals Halloween Show: nonstop EDM, 10+ DJs, lasers, fireworks, and prizes for killer costumes. Starts at 8 p.m. for ages 18+.








On Friday and Saturday



Tamarindo Beach, Guanacaste.  Tamarindo Halloween Fest runs with live music, food trucks, costume contests (even for pets), and a candy hunt. Starts at 10 a.m. Free admission.










On Saturday



Multiplaza Mall, Curridabat, San José. Tricky Day transforms the mall into a ghostly playground for kids, featuring games, trick-or-treating, and a costume contest starting at 2 p.m.



Distrito Cuatro Shop Center, Escazú, San José.  Candy Hunt Fest brings games, music, and a spooky character show for the kids at 5 p.m. Free admission.



Delta Hotels Marriott Aurola, San José.  Halloween Dinner at Tropicana Restaurant. Fancy dining, themed dishes, and live tunes at 6 p.m.



Campo Ayala Club, Cartago. Adults-only Halloween Party packed with live music, light shows, contests, and ghostly fun. Starts at 6 p.m.



Almonds & Corals Hotel, Puerto Viejo, Limón.  Catrinas Caribbean Fest blends Day of the Dead culture with Caribbean flavor. Live music, cultural shows, and delicious food at 2 p.m.










On Sunday





Hacienda Kitchen at Marriott Hotel, Heredia.  Catrinas Show Lunch with a buffet, live music, and kids’ activities. Starts at noon.



Tequila Ollitas Restaurant at Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel, Escazú, San José. Day of the Dead Festival with Mexican-inspired food, cocktails, and kids’ fun from 4 p.m.



Huaraches Restaurant, Atenas, Alajuela.  Day of the Dead Party with games, contests, live music, and themed food and drinks starting at 1 p.m.







All Weekend




Amusement Park, La Uruca, San José.  Halloween Fest takes over with haunted houses, scare zones, live shows, and trick-or-treat trails. From family-friendly fun to adults-only scares, the park opens at 9 a.m.




Want a scare, a dance floor, or just an excuse to wear something outrageous? Costa Rica’s Halloween weekend has it all. Pick your haunt and have a "Pura Vida" Halloween  chilling out with family and friends.
