On Friday




The dance show
"A Night in Paris" brings a touch of French flair to San José this Friday at the Arnoldo Herrera Theater. Inspired by classical French music, the performance features dancers from the Castella Conservatory Dance Academy and promises an elegant, expressive night on stage. The show begins at 6 p.m., and tickets are available at the theater box office.




The Diesel Rock Band delivers a full-on
Guns N’ Roses tribute concert at Jazz Café Pub in Escazú, San José. Expect a high-energy night packed with classic rock anthems as the band recreates the iconic sound of the legendary group. The concert kicks off at 8:30 p.m., with tickets available at the venue’s box office.








On Friday and Saturday




The opera trio Los Tenores takes the stage at
the Melico Salazar Theater in San José with a special "Christmas Gala Concert." Backed by the Universal Orchestra and the Laus Deo Choir, the singers will guide the audience through a festive mix of Christmas music, blending timeless classics with modern hits and tropical rhythms. "The Flamenco Dance Show" lights up Casa de España in San José, organized by the Spanish community in Costa Rica. The evening combines passionate flamenco performances with wine tasting and traditional Spanish food, creating a full cultural experience. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets can be purchased at the venue’s box office.


 









On Saturday




"The Rhythm Dance Show"
hits the stage at the Eugene O’Neill Theater in San José, taking audiences on a nonstop ride through musical styles from the 1980s to today’s hits. Designed as a vibrant journey through decades of rhythm and movement, the show starts at 11 a.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office or on the Ticketbox website.




A Latin Music Concert featuring singers Elena Umaña and Weedny Wax takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Alajuela. The event includes a cocktail reception and a dance area, making it a perfect night out for fans of tropical music. The show begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are available through the Ticketbox website.










On Sunday




"The Solstice Celtic Music Concert"
arrives at Casa España in San José, featuring Spanish groups Vientos Alisios and Dragón. Organized by the Spanish community in Costa Rica, the performance marks the beginning of the winter solstice with traditional Celtic sounds and atmosphere. The show starts at noon, with tickets available at the venue box office.




"The Letter That Saved Christmas"
dance show is presented at the Eugene O’Neill Theater in San José. Inspired by the importance of solidarity and hope over materialism, the production delivers a meaningful holiday message through dance. There will be two performances, at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available on the Ticketbox website.




The Triciclo Theater in downtown San José stages “The Grinch,” based on the beloved 1957 Dr. Seuss classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The show begins at 2 p.m., and tickets can be purchased at the theater box office.








This Weekend




The comedy play "Pyjama Pour Six" runs all weekend at the Lucho Barahona Theater in San José. Inspired by the work of French playwright Marc Camoletti, the story follows a series of hilarious misunderstandings in a renovated French farmhouse about two hours from Paris, where Bernard plans to send his wife, Jacqueline, away for the weekend so he can spend time with his mistress, Suzanne, a Parisian model. The play starts at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 5 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are available at the theater box office.








The Espressivo Theater in San José is rolling out its production of A Christmas Carol, inspired by the classic Charles Dickens story.  On Friday, the show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday features two performances at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. On Sunday, the curtain rises at 2 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through the theater’s website.













The Fuentes-Gasca Circus at Campo Ayala Club in Cartago is packing the whole weekend with high-energy action, think trapeze stunts, sharp-as-ever jugglers, live music, dancers, clowns that genuinely get you laughing, and plenty of magic to keep the show moving. Performances run daily at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available right at the venue’s box office.

razy Lucky"
at the Máscara Theater in San José. The comedy follows the hilarious chaos that unfolds when a group of friends gets together. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater’s box office.




The Torres Theater in San José is featuring the comedy play "Orgasms."  The show takes a funny and honest look at the complexities of modern relationships. Showtimes: on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at the theater box office. Please note, the show is for audiences 15 years old and older.








The Moliere Theater in San José shows the comedy play "Papichulo" (Handsome Daddy). The story follows a thief who ends up in all kinds of crazy trouble while trying to rob a house full of women. Showtimes:  Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the theater box office.








Get ready for laughs at the Triciclo Theater in San José with "Suegras Bárbaras" (Crazy Mothers-in-Law). This hilarious comedy follows a couple on vacation who, thanks to an unexpected twist, find themselves having to bring their mother-in-law along for the ride. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available at the theater box office.

The Art Museum in downtown La Sabana, San José, presents private collections of Latin American artists. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticket is $15.


 



The Gold Museum in downtown San José presents an exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens at 9 a.m.




The National Museum in downtown San José, presents an exhibition of Costa Rica's history and handmade artifacts, including some more than 12,000 years old, made by the first peoples of the region. Museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
