Jennifer Batten, the American electric guitar virtuoso who served as lead guitarist on all three of Michael Jackson’s world tours, will perform as part of King, a tribute concert dedicated to Michael Jackson. The show takes place at the Melico Salazar Theater in San José and promises to take fans on a musical journey through the greatest hits of the so-called “King of Pop.” The Friday performance starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s show begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office or through the Eticket website.

The National Symphony Orchestra brings a classical music concert to the National Theater in San José, featuring an orchestral overture by Grażyna Bacewicz, Concierto de Otoño by Arturo Márquez, the Concerto for Corno da Caccia in E-flat major by Johann Baptist Georg Neruda, and Symphony No. 1 in F minor, Op. 10, by Dmitri Shostakovich. The Glow Art Experience is lighting up the Children’s Museum in San José with an immersive show that combines colorful lights and 3D technology to transport audiences into a fictional world created through light and music. The Escenario Theater at Plaza Tempo Shopping Center in San José hosts the comedy play “One More Week,” inspired by the French original “Une Semaine, Pas Plus” by director Clément Michel. The Lucho Barahona Theater in San José presents "The Woman in Black," inspired by Susan Hill’s 1983 novel. Set in early 20th-century England, the story follows a young, recently widowed lawyer who travels to a remote village, where he discovers that the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals. The Espressivo Theater in San José presents "Animal Farm," the acclaimed stage adaptation inspired by George Orwell's satirical allegorical dystopian novel, first published in England on Aug. 17, 1945. The story follows the mistreated animals of Manor Farm as they rise up against their human owner, hoping to build a society where all animals are equal, free, and happy. But their revolution is ultimately betrayed, and under the dictatorship of the pigs, the farm becomes a dystopia much like the one they tried to escape. The Tricycle Theater in San José is putting a fun twist on mystery with “Shear Madness,” based on the German play “Scherenschnitt” by Paul Pörtner. This interactive comedy drops you right into a unisex hair salon where a famous pianist upstairs gets murdered—and suddenly everyone’s a suspect.
