and Sunday
The National Theater,
in downtown San José, brings the magic
of "Sleeping Beauty Ballet"
to the stage. Inspired by the classic
Brothers Grimm tale first published in
the 1812 collection Children's and Household Tales,
this production combines stunning
choreography from the National Ballet
Company with live music performed by
the National Symphony Orchestra. The
performance takes place Saturday at 7
p.m., while Sunday's schedule includes
two showings at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are

If off-road vehicles are your thing, Expo Off Road is the place to be at the Pedregal Event Center in Heredia. This adrenaline-packed event celebrates innovation, performance, and passion for the automotive world while bringing together some of Costa Rica's top off-road brands, projects, and trends. Visitors can get an up-close look at rugged 4x4 vehicles built to tackle challenging terrain, including mud, rocks, dirt, and sand. The expo opens at noon, and tickets are available at the venue's box office.
Sunday
Rodeo fans can catch all the action at the National Stadium in San José during the Extreme American Rodeo. This high-energy American-style rodeo competition brings together riders from the United States, Panama, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, and Costa Rica. Rooted in the ranching traditions of the American West, the event showcases classic rodeo skills including herding, roping, and horse breaking. Spectators can expect an exciting lineup of timed events and roughstock competitions packed with skill, speed, and nonstop entertainment. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. Tickets are available on the Eticket website.

at the National Pet Adoption Fair
at Vía Guayabos
Shopping Center
in Curridabat, San José. In addition
to opportunities to adopt a pet,
visitors can enjoy Puppy Yoga
sessions, educational talks on pet

pet-related products. The event begins
at 10 a.m. and offers free admission
for everyone.
Motorsports enthusiasts can head to Los Llanos Track in San Carlos, Alajuela, for an exciting 4x4 Drag Racing competition. Drivers will battle for the fastest times as their vehicles race down a quarter-mile straightaway. The action starts at 9 a.m., and admission is free.
This Weekend
The Entrepreneurs' Fair takes over Plaza Iglesias in Alajuela. Organized by the municipality, the fair features more than 50 entrepreneurs offering everything from handcrafted souvenirs and jewelry to food, liquors, and specialty products. Activities begin at 9 a.m., and admission is free.
The Bagaces Community Fair is transforming the San Caralampio fairground in Bagaces canton in Guanacaste into a weekend-long celebration for all ages. Families can enjoy carnival rides, live concerts, sports activities, colorful masquerades, and a wide selection of local food vendors. Activities begin at noon each day, and admission is free.
Head over to the Vargas Calvo Theater for Sibelius, a comedy that dives into the lives of Sebastián and Ulysses, one a writer, the other a merchant marine, as their stories and experiences collide in unexpected ways. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are available at the theater box office or through the Nacional Theater website, which is sponsoring the production.
