The Liberia
Canton municipal band is lighting up the Casa Cural of San
José Obrero church in the La Guaria
community, Liberia, Guanacaste. Expect a
tropical music set that gets the crowd
moving. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.,
and admission is free.
On Friday and Saturday
The Los
Santos Canton municipal band is bringing
tropical vibes with two live shows. On Friday, they
hit the Juanachute saloon in San Pablo town in San José at 7
p.m. On Saturday, they
head to the Santa María de
Dota church for a second
performance at 4:30 p.m. Both shows are
free, so just pull up and enjoy
the music.
On Friday and Sunday
The National Symphony Orchestra is taking over the National Theater in San José for a powerful classical music experience. Friday night’s performance kicks off at 8 p.m., while Sunday’s show starts at 10:30 a.m. It’s a perfect pick whether you’re winding down your week or easing into your Sunday morning. The Kingsday Festival
is bringing Dutch culture to Central Park in
Ciudad Colón,
San José. Organized by the Dutch
Embassy in Costa Rica, this event
celebrates ahead of King
Willem-Alexanders birthday of
the Kingdom of the Netherlands on
April 27. Expect a mix of Dutch food,
crafts, live music, traditional games,
and more. It’s a laid-back,
family-friendly vibe with plenty to
explore. The festival starts at 9
a.m., and it’s free to attend.
It’s a full day of
music at the National Theater in
San José, with three
different concerts bringing totally
different vibes. Things start at 9 a.m.
with the
National Music Institute performing “Obnubila
Duo.” The
second concert at 1:30 p.m. brings the
folk sounds. Then at 7 p.m., the
National Band of Cartago closes it out
with a jazz concert, something for every
mood, all in one spot. Tickets are available

The Dance Festival hits the stage at the National Dance Theater in San José. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, this event showcases standout performances from dancers of the National Dance Company. Expect energy, artistry, and some seriously impressive moves. sleep on Taco Fest
at Escazú Canton
Central Park
in San José. This is a full-on
celebration of authentic Mexican food,
with more than 20 food trucks serving
up all kinds of tacos. On top of that,
you’ve got live music, dance
performances, and mariachi bringing
the energy all day. It all kicks off
at 10 a.m., and admission is free.
The Grecia Canton municipal band brings two tropical music concerts to Grecia Central Park in Alajuela. It’s an easygoing outdoor vibe with live music starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Music starts at 5:30 p.m on Sunday. Best part, it’s totally free.

Expresivo Theater in San
José is bringing the laughs with “Therapy,” a comedy based on the original
play by Argentine writer Matías Del
Federico. The story follows three
couples stepping into a therapy
session hoping to fix their issues,
but things spiral into straight-up
hilarious chaos instead. Show starts
at 6 p.m. Grab your tickets at the
theater box office or online. Head over to San Luis de Acosta
School in Acosta Canton, San José, where
the Acosta
Canton municipal band is putting on a tropical music
concert. The show starts at 4 p.m.,
and admission is free.
Lucho Barahona Theater in San José is serving up laughs with “El que busca, encuentra" ("Track Down"), a comedy based on a play by French writer Marc Camoletti. The setup? Four women sharing a house, each trying to fix their personal drama by secretly posting classified ads. Sounds simple—until their plans crash into each other and everything spirals into hilarious chaos with potential roommates and plenty of conflict. Shows run Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office or online.
Tricycle Theater in San José is putting a fun twist on mystery with “Shear Madness,” based on the German play “Scherenschnitt” by Paul Pörtner. This interactive comedy drops you right into a unisex hair salon where a famous pianist upstairs gets murdered—and suddenly everyone’s a suspect. Expect laughs, surprises, and a chance to be part of the action. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office or online.
The Ciudad Quesada community fair in San Carlos, Alajuela, is going all out with its local fair at the San Carlos Cattlemen’s Association in Muelle de San Carlos. This is one of those events where there’s something for everyon: rides, sports, concerts, rodeo action, bullfights, masquerades, and plenty of food to keep you going. It all starts at noon, and the best part, entry is free.
Herradura Beach in Puntarenas is bringing the energy with its Community Fair at the local bullring in the sports field. The schedule is stacked—live music, dance shows, bullfights, a horse parade, food stands, sports, and a playground for the kids. Everything kicks off at noon, and entry is free, so it’s an easy yes.
