Amazon, the U.S.-based multinational e-commerce and technology company, has launched its low-cost shopping app, Amazon Bazaar, in Costa Rica.

According to the company, the new app aims to offer customers a wide selection of products at low prices, paired with competitive shipping options.

“Based on the positive response we’ve seen from customers shopping on Amazon Bazaar in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, we’re excited to bring this popular shopping experience to even more customers around the world,” Amazon said in a statement.

Along with Costa Rica, Amazon Bazaar also debuted in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Nigeria.

Part of the global Amazon Haul platform, Amazon Bazaar connects customers with hundreds of thousands of products across categories such as fashion, home goods, and lifestyle. The platform emphasizes affordability, with most items priced under $10 and some as low as $2.

Amazon said the name “Bazaar” was chosen to better reflect local languages and cultures while maintaining the platform’s identity as a low-cost, global shopping destination.

New customers receive 50% off their first order, and all shoppers can enjoy additional savings as they build their carts. Free delivery is available for orders meeting the local minimum purchase amount, while smaller orders incur a standard shipping fee. Deliveries typically arrive within two weeks.

Customers can also take advantage of free returns within 15 days of receiving their orders. Amazon provides 24/7 multilingual customer support to assist shoppers.

“Customers can discover affordable products while enjoying engaging features like social lucky draws and promotions,” the company said.

Amazon noted that all items sold on Amazon Bazaar undergo strict compliance checks to ensure safety and adherence to company policies and local regulations.

The app supports six languages, including English and Spanish, and allows users to shop in their preferred currency. Customers can log in with their existing Amazon accounts or create new ones. Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

The Amazon Bazaar app is available for download now on local iOS and Android app stores.

Amazon first established operations in Costa Rica in October 2008 with a customer service center in San José. Since then, the company has expanded its presence, adding centers for Amazon Web Services (AWS), seller support, and customer service operations.
