The Canadian firm Bill Gosling Outsourcing announced an expansion of its operations in Costa Rica to increase its services to more customers in Canada.

The company provides services to fintech, banks, financial institutions, e-commerce, retail, and automobile industries and public services from its facilities located in El Cafetal Corporate Center in Belen Canton, Heredia Province.

According to the company, it plans to triple the number of Canadian customers it serves from Costa Rica which translates into the creation of 500 new job openings in the country.

This is made possible by the expertise gained in financial technology collections and the addition of new clients, including a Canadian automotive financing firm, an emergency roadside assistance organization, and most recently, a new utility client.

“We are enthused by the changing market,” said David Clements, vice president of operations at Bill Gosling Outsourcing Costa Rica. “The extensive preparation of the local workforce in education, skills, understanding of the North American culture, and one thing we feel even more valuable, the ability of Costa Ricans to speak French, enabling Canadian companies that had not outsourced much outside their country to open their doors now to solutions in other countries - specifically in Costa Rica. BGO is extremely excited to continue its growth and expansion with this breakthrough.”

According to Urgellés, the company has already surpassed 1,200 employees after its first job openings at the beginning of 2023. With these 500 new openings, the company is expected to continue fortifying its more than 24 business lines in markets such as the United States and now, essentially, Canada.

Among the job openings the company is seeking to fill are customer support agents, team leaders, managers and technical support among others positions. Training is paid, and employees must speak either English or French.

Those interested in exploring the job options can do so by visiting the company careers website.

Even though new international firms are creating jobs in Costa Rica, unemployment remains at 8.8%, according to the National Employment Survey.

Data recorded from June to August 2023 shows more than 204,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 107,000 are men, making up 52% of the unemployed people in the country.

Bill Gosling is one of many international firms expanding operations in Costa Rica. This week, Little Caesars, a U.S. pizza business chain, announced the opening of a new location in the country.
