funds available
for green projects By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Small and medium-sized companies interested in making a productive transformation toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly business model have the opportunity to opt for non-reimbursable funds by applying to the Green Growth contest. Green Growth is a project from the Costa Rica's Export Promotion Agency, known as PROCOMER, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the Costa Rica-United States of America Foundation for Cooperation (CRUSA). Judges will select 50 projects from the list of applicants to develop their green project proposals. Green Growth encourages companies to submit their ideas related to: - Certifications and environmental innovations of processes and products - energy efficiency, - promotion of renewable energy, - reduction of emissions, - water use and integrated waste management. Winners will obtain financing of up to 80% of non-reimbursable funds for the development of their project. Companies can propose projects to be developed in the following categories: • Obtaining certifications, in which up to $10,000 in funds will be provided. • Environmental innovation in processes or products, where they will obtain up to $12,000. • Obtaining certification and environmental innovation in processes or products, which will grant up to $15,000 in funds. Application deadline is August, 27, 2020.
