By the A.M. Costa Rica staff
The Ministry of Culture announced that the six bands of Costa Rican musicians are winners of the Ibermúsicas Latin American music contest.
According to the ministry, Costa Rican music groups won the prizes of performing concerts in other countries with the sponsorship of the organization.
The Costa Rican winners are:
- The singer and author Adrian Goizueta with his band Experimental that will give concerts at the Conference of Human Rights in Uruguay.
- The guitar group Quartet of Costa Rica that will be performing at the International Guitar Festival of Granada, Spain.
- The folk group La Original Domingueña that will be performing at the music festival in Calella, Spain.

- And the jazz group Ambassadors Armonía Colectiva Foundation will be performing at the Jazz Festival for peace in Chile.
"We are very pleased with the work that the Ibermúsicas program has been doing for the promotion and development of our music at an international level," said Gabriel Goñi of the Ministry of Culture. "Our musical groups have demonstrated a very important advance with respect to the projects, the reason why the number of proposals to receive the benefits by Ibermúsicas has increased considerably and the election has been a challenge for the contest referees. "
According to the organizers of Ibermúsicas, this competition highlighted the growing number of projects that exceeded the number of contestants from the previous year.
The Ibermúsicas program, in addition to rewarding Costa Rican musicians by financing their performances in other countries, supports foreign musicians to come and perform in Costa Rica.
Among the foreign winners who will give concerts in Costa Rica are: the band Terceto del Sur, from Mexico, the singer Verónica Jara from Chile and the band Preludios from México.
The ministry will announce the concerts of foreign musicians in Costa Rica.
