If you like photography and have a nice photo related to any beach in Costa Rica, this information may interest you.

The Forever Costa Rica Association with the support of the Ministry of Environment invites everyone, national or foreign, to participate in the photo contest "El Mar corre por nuestras venas." In English this means the sea runs through our veins.

According to the association, the goal of the contest is to motivate people who love nature and tourism to share their best photos related to the sea and encourage people to continue working on the conservation of the seas.

To participate in the contest, people must register, free of charge, on the SomosMar website and complete the registration form.

There are no photographic knowledge requirements so any fan can participate.

The award categories are four: the sea and the people, the underwater bottom, the sea and the coastal landscapes, and the most viewed photo on social networks.

Competitors must send the photo with a maximum weight of 10 MB to the association. One person can participate in all four categories.

Competitors may upload a maximum of two photographs per category.

The deadline to participate is Feb. 3.

"It is important to emphasize that the participant must be the author of the photograph with which he is competing. The use of photographs of third parties, with or without the photographer's permission, or photographs downloaded from the internet or other sources is prohibited," said the association.

All photos must be taken in Costa Rica. Images captured in other countries will not be accepted.

The jury will announce the winners Feb. 16. The jury is made up of a group of professional photographers from the To The Wonder company. who will make their decision based on technical criteria of esthetic, movement, image quality and affinity with the category theme, said the organizer.

The winner on each category will get a $400 prize provided by the association.
