One of the
leading daily U.S. newspapers, The
Washington Post, has
recognized Costa Rica as one of the best
vacation destinations.
The travel section of the newspaper recently reported that Costa Rica is one of the top nine summer vacation destinations that are less crowded.
"Cancún is Mexico’s top travel destination, attracting millions of nearby Americans for its beaches, cuisine and affordable prices. Instead of the Mexican tourism powerhouse, try a Central American destination with nearly 800 miles of coastline," reads the report.
According to the reporter, while Costa Rica topped lists for flight searches and bookings over the past few years, it’s conspicuously missing from this year’s data. "That should mean fewer people in Guanacaste, home to world-class surfing, or the Osa Peninsula, an off-the-beaten-path tropical fjord," she wrote.
Other
destinations recommended in the
report are Buenos Aires in
Argentina, Montreal in Canada,
Nevada in the United States, and
the Albanian Riviera among
others. As
of June, more than 1.3 million
tourists have visited the
country. The
number marks a new record
compared to the number of
visitors registered in the
country in the same period in
2019, the year before the
covid-19 pandemic. ---------------
