JetBlue is one of many airlines increasing the frequency of their flights to Costa Rica. Recently, Mexican low-cost airline, Volaris, launched new flights between Juan Santamarķa International Airport (SJO) and two main U.S. International Airports, Los Angeles (LAX) in Calif. and John F. Kennedy (JFK) in New York.
By facilitating tourism, air transport helps generate more tourism and economic growth in Costa Rica. As of February, the Tourism Institute recorded more than 554,000 tourists have visited the country. That is over 216,000 more visitors than the same period in 2022.
