Nine companies from the aerospace industry are participating in the three-day Business Aviation Convention & Exhibitions fair that ends today in Las Vegas, United States.

According to the Foreign Trade Promotion Office, known as Procomer, these companies will be presented: TicoElectronics, OPM, Preinsa, Camtronics, Nuso Machine Shop, Zollner, TechShop, AEC and GJ Cargo. The annual trade show is organized by the National Business Aviation Association.

"This fair is considered the annual meeting point for the aviation industry and is used to create networks of contacts around the world, including potential customers, aircraft owners and factories," said Procomer in its statement.

According to Procomer, the fair attracts at least 23,000 professionals who can visit more than 1,000 stands of companies in the aerospace industry. The Costa Rican companies will be promoted at the stand set up by Procomer.

"The three-day event presents an opportunity to network with the industry’s leading experts, innovators and key aviation contacts from around the world," said the association of the fair in its statement. "It features over 1,000 exhibitors displayed across 1 million square feet of floor space and nearly 100 aircraft, from business jets to rotorcraft, on static display."

At the fair the key speakers include:

- Earvin “Magic” Johnson, chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises.

- Eric Allison, head of Uber Elevate.

- Yves Rossy, the first man in the history of aviation to fly with a jet-propelled wing.

- Steuart Walton, the founder and chairman of Game Composites.

On Tuesday, nine Costa Rican companies participated in Fresh Summit 2019 that took place over the weekend in Anaheim, California, as A.M. Costa Rica previously reported.

The companies that participated are: Association of Bioecological Producers of the North, Tropicales del Valle, Upala Agrícola, Productos Agropecuario Visa S.A., Exportaciones Michelle SM S.A., Piñales del Caribe GAC S.A., Piñas Cultivadas de Costa Rica S.A., Consorcio Chayotes and Asofrobrunca.

Costa Rican companies offered products such as pineapples, bananas and pumpkins, among others.

According to Procomer, Fresh Summit 2019 is the largest and most important U.S. fair for the agricultural sector.

"Fresh Summit 2019 brings together more than 1,000 participating companies that exhibit products, services and trends related to the fresh produce industry," said Procomer in its statement.

According to the statistics provided by Procomer, in 2018 Costa Rica exported $2,.9 billion in agricultural products, among which banana, pineapple, golden coffee and cassava.

Within the main export destinations, in addition to the U.S., there are European countries like Holland, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

According to Procomer, during 2018, $1.9 billion in agricultural products were exported to Europe. Exports to Europe are equivalent to 22 percent of total exports.

"In 2013, the Trade Association Agreement between the European Union and Central America entered into force, which regulates relations between the two regions in three areas: political dialogue, cooperation and the creation of a free trade area between the EU and the countries of Central America," said Procomer in its statement.

In the specific case of the United Kingdom, Costa Rica mainly exports bananas, pineapples, sugar, melons, among others.
